Overnight oats are a very easy breakfast. The oats are soaked overnight and they absorb the liquid they are in. The lightest and most delicious way to soak oats is for me with a good almond milk. The brand The New Barn has delicious options and I usually prefer the unsweetened vanilla one.
The recipe is easy: same quantity of oats and liquid. Example: 1 cup of oats for 1 cup of milk! You should soak them in the container where you’ll eat them. If you are planning to eat them at work, a glass container or mason jar is ideal or even plastic cups that you use for iced coffee or smoothies.
Finally, the best of the best: the toppings! My favorite part! My go to are hazelnuts, cacao nibs, goji berries, coconut flakes and Manuka honey! They are all superfoods and I really like them together. It’s a great combination of sweetness, crunchiness, bitterness and softness!
Manuka honey is the best honey you can find! It’s from New Zealand and is known to have amazing healing nutrients! I always have one in my pantry and I used it for my breakfast bowls. I don’t use it for my cakes because it would be a shame given the price… Make sure you buy one that is 10+. Trader Joe’s has a good and cheap option!
