Superfood protein bars – healthy homemade snack bar that you will love! Vegan and gluten free.
A few days ago, I took a look at a friend’s (hi Eran!) protein bar and I was like… This is full of protein ok but definitely not the best you can give to your body. He is gluten-free and can’t have oats. He was also looking for something with a lot of protein and low sugar and looking at the likes of this vegan protein mix that will probably work well for his workouts too. Although, after our conversation, I got inspired to create these bars: high in proteins, loaded with superfoods and low in sugar!
I have sugar cravings. I could lie to you and say I don’t but I could sweet all day. So between all the greens I am trying to eat, sometimes, I indulge myself with little treats. Especially after a workout. These bars are highly loaded in protein! With all the superfoods in it, cocoa, seeds, nuts, coconut, dates… It’s a perfect snack before or after a workout. However, be aware that those bars contain calories even if full of superfoods!
This recipe has around 40g of protein for the whole batch. If you want to add more protein, do not hesitate to add 2-4 other scoops.
I order all my superfoods on amazon. It’s the best way to compare the prices and find good discount. I order them raw and unsweetened.
Dates are naturally sweet and add the perfect balance to those bars. After you blend them, they’ll turn into a paste easy to combine with other ingredients. You can switch any ingredient for another. This recipe offers an infinite combination possibilities and only takes a few minutes to prepare. You don’t like coconut? Fine, add more nuts! You don’t like hazelnuts? Fine, add more walnuts! And so go on.

First of all, this is a lovely looking recipe. I’m on board simply for the hazelnuts and cocoa! Second, thanks for saying that you like sweet food. I know that might sound silly, but I like it when I know that something like a protein bar has been made by a person who will admit to enjoying a treat, and not by someone who will try to convince me that kale tastes better than chocolate. Basically, I have a lot more faith that this will actually taste good! Cheers! 😀

This looks like something I would enjoy for sure! I love dates and use them in everything. I’m thinking for school, which is nut free, I could substitute for pepitas or something to still get that crunch. Yum! Thanks for this!

I was just seeking this information for a while. After six hours of continuous Googleing, finally I got it in your web site. I wonder what is the lack of Google strategy that do not rank this type of informative sites in top of the list. Generally the top websites are full of garbage.

I truly wanted to post a brief note to be able to say thanks to you for all the great guides you are posting on this site. My incredibly long internet look up has at the end of the day been rewarded with good facts to write about with my best friends. I am glad for writing to make you know what a helpful discovery my girl developed checking your blog. She mastered a lot of issues, most notably what it’s like to have an excellent teaching style to let a number of people without difficulty master various very confusing subject areas. You really did more than visitors’ expected results. Many thanks for producing the essential, trusted, informative and easy thoughts on that topic to Sandra.

Hi,
It seems you have a wonderful site with lots of healthy foods (which are the most important to me.)
However, after being here only a few minutes, I found it most difficult to read comfortably. The print is SO light gray (way too light) which is a strain to continue reading. My eyes are fine but I’ve noticed over time that this is happening more and more frequently and I cannot understand why. It’s not using expensive ink. I’ve talked to a lot of people who are as upset as I am over this and a few (including myself) have just stopped reading anything online with this light gray.
Besides the light gray, the font is so small. Of course, it can be changed, but it’s just an extra step to fiddle around finding the right size to fit the screen. In fact, right now as I’m typing, it’s so small and light, I’m having trouble seeing what I’m writing.
Awhile back, all the print was dark enough and large enough to read properly, so I’m not sure what’s going on, but it’s most frustrating.
Best Regards,
Ann
PS – I don’t expect you to publish this on your site, but hopefully, you will take this into consideration and perhaps make some appropriate changes.

Hi Ann,
Sorry you feel this way!
COuld you please explain what text youre talking about? is it the recipe text? Is it the main text? Can you please clarify so I can try to adjust? Thanks

Hi, Kelly,
Thank you so much for responding.
The recipe print is darker and easier to read, although it’s still smaller than most sites I visit. Below that, the word RELATED is dark with the few words beneath being darker. Then, across the page, starting with “July 24, 2017In “Breakfast & Brunch”, all the print is very light gray. And from there on, all the way down, everything is all very light. I can’t believe I’m the only one noticing this.
Once again, I’ve had to enlarge the font using Ctrl, along with the wheel on my mouse, and after reading a few words it’s actually a strain on my eyes.
I don’t know when this all began or why, but a few short yrs. ago, everything was dark and easy on the eyes.
Thank you again for caring enough to ask.
